Half Marathon

Dave and I decided (well, really he talked me into it) that we should run a half marathon. I don't know why...we both hate to run anything over 3 miles. So we began to train and work toward this goal of finishing this race. It was really hard and painful and gave me such respect and awe for people I know who have ran FULL marathons. At the end of 13.2 miles I could not imagine myself going for another 13.2. It seems crazy! We both finished within 30 seconds of each other (because he ditched me at the end...nice huh?) and our time was just over 2 hours. I was just glad to be done running but that's when my legs really hurt! I'm pretty proud of Dave for doing this and proud of myself too! I know it's possible to do things that are hard if you put your mind to it. (But I don't want to do it again any time soon!)

I think running 3 miles is crazy but good for you for going for 13.5! My brother did the same thing to his wife, sprint at the end to get a faster score, too bad he didn't notice he had on her jersy # and it recorded her as being faster! She is totally claiming it. Sweet revenge.

Wow, that is so impressive! I'm doing good walk/run 2 miles. You both should be so proud of yourselves.
